Churches in Bradford

There are many churches in and around Bradford that you can attend. We encourage all our members to join a church as the CU can’t meet all the needs for Christian growth, such as pastoral care and fellowship with Christians of all age ranges. Below are just a few of the churches, for a broader list, please visit www.prayerforbradford.org.uk/whoweare.html.

Several of the churches above support the CU financially and through prayer. There is also an Advisory Committee made up of leaders and members of some of these. The Exec meet with them regularly to discuss what’s going on in the CU and to ask for their advice and guidance. They are a valuable source of wisdom and encouragement to us.

Prayer for Bradford

The CU is linked with Prayer for Bradford, which unites churches and Christian projects around Bradford in praying for the city, its people and unity between the churches. There are worship and prayer meetings held quarterly at the cathedral, where Christians from across Bradford come together as one body. For more information visit the website www.prayerforbradford.org.uk.

Prayer for Bradford is also fully supporting the nationwide initiative, Hope 2008. Hope Bradford will be city wide with events being held by many different churches and projects, but under the one name of Hope Bradford, thus bringing oneness across the city. Its aims include:

  • to do more in mission next year
  • to do this together
  • to do this in word and deed

‘It’s grassroots with some supporting central events.’

Global Café

Global Café aims to provide a place for International Students to meet local people, make friends and improve their English whilst here in Bradford. Check out their website for more information.
