House Party Info

Hi all,

It’s nearly Houseparty time! (Everything is in included in the £15)

On Friday from 5:30pm we will be meeting at the Discovery Centre where you can enjoy some pizzas from Springs (which is opposite the Disco Centre) before we set off. It would be good to bring some money to settle with the driver of the car.

It would be a good idea to bring suitable footwear and coat for the walk on Saturday afternoon, plus don’t for forget the usual stuff you need for a weekend, toiletries etc.

Also, on Thursday will be having Stewart Morris over to start our look at 2 Timothy, so come along at 7:30pm in the usual seminar room in Student Central.

Have a great rest of the week and see you soon!

Peter

Weekly Update

Hello everyone,

Here is you weekly CU e-mail, hope the week is going well so far

Thursday we will be meeting in the usual time and place, 7:30 in Student Central, where Lensa will be sharing pearls of wisdom about S for Study.

Do remember if you intend to go to the houseparty on November 5th – 7th do bring the £15 to book your place, it really will be worth it and would be great to see as many as possible there.

Next Monday the prayer meeting will be on as normal, 9pm at the discovery centre

Now we are in week 4 (already!!) the work is starting to heap up so here is a verse, which you probably know, but is brilliant none the less

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those how hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on the like eagles” Isaiah 40: 30- 31

God bless

Here we are again another CU meeting to tell you about, this week in the usual time and place in student central at 7:30pm Nick will be giving the next stage of the ‘FRESH’ theme; E being for Evangelism.

On Sunday you have the opportunity to visit St John’s on Great Horton road and have another free meal, aren’t you lucky things. We will be meeting outside Sainsbury’s at 10:40am as the service starts at 11:15am.

Remember we have weekly prayer meetings at 9pm on Mondays at the Discovery centre; probably should have mentioned that last week.

One last thing, a Bible verse that I hope will keep you going

God bless
Peter

P.S. if you do not wish to be on the Christian Union mailing list, please let me know and I can take you off

Here we are again :)

Hello everyone,

It is time for the weekly CU e-mail to take your mind off those lectures.
We are having our CU meeting at 7:30pm in seminar room 0.46 in Student Central, the same room as last week. Terry Henry will be speaking to us for the next stage of the FRESH theme, where last week was F was for Faith and this week R being Relationship with our friends and God.

On Saturday there will be a trip to Bolton Abbey for students organised by Bradford Family Church, we will be meeting at 11:30am in the Unique Gym car park to be picked up. A picnic will be provided and there is an alternative if it rains. If you would like to go please tell me either at the meeting or by reply to this e-mail so we can get a good idea of numbers.

On Sunday we will be visiting Sunbridge Road Mission, we will be meeting at 10:00am outside Sainsbury’s.

Please remember to bring the society forms if you took them last week and the £3 for membership, this allows us to access funding from the Student’s Union, just in case you wanted to know why.

Blessings,
Peter

A Little Extra Note…

Hi there,

Just a quick couple of things to tell you about that were not included in the previous post.

Firstly, if you have a strong feeling that you will join the Christian Union it will be a good idea to bring £3 for the joining fee, society forms will be there to fill in.

Secondly, if you are on Facebook then please become a fan of the Christian Union to receive update and invites to any events.

See you all on Thursday at 7:30pm

Peter

Hello and welcome to all the new Freshers,

So Fresher’s week is over and now the lectures begin, and so do our CU meetings. On Thursday at 7:30pm in Seminar Room 0.46, which is part of the seminar rooms on the top floor in Student Central, tucked away in the corner. We will be having a meeting on the subject of ‘Faith’ where Major Martin Wheeler of the Salvation Army (hence the Major) will share some thoughts.

Also, next Sunday we will be visiting Bradford Family Church. We will be picked up at the Sports Centre Car Park at 1pm, to go to Lister Park to hang out before the service. After the service we will be having a nice meal, more details will be given in the meeting.

All that’s left to say is, all the best this week and we look forward to seeing you all on Thursday.
